Dual Array Probes for Welds
Overview
Advantages of Dual Linear Array™ and Dual Matrix Array™ Probes
- Ability to transmit and receive longitudinal waves in granular materials
- Increased penetration in stainless steel, including austenitic, corrosion-resistant alloys, and dissimilar welds
- Excellent signal-to-noise ratio
- Higher frequencies and smaller elements provide benefits for applications requiring detection of very small indications
A28 and A38 Dual Linear Array (DLA) Probes
- High-frequency probes (up to 10 MHz) for applications with high-sensitivity requirements (such as HTHA, creep damage, SOHIC)
- Dual 32 (A28) or 64 (A38) small-element arrays offer wide coverage with a short footprint
- Series of wedges to fit pipe diameters of 4.5 in. [114.3 mm] OD and larger
- Series of wedges with roof angles offering passive focusing for depths from 4 mm to 95 mm (0.16 in. to 3.74 in.)
- Compatible with the universal holder and the ChainSCANNER™, VersaMOUSE, HSMT-Compact, HSMT-Flex, AxSEAM™, WeldROVER™, MapROVER, and SteerROVER scanners
A26 and A36 Dual Linear Array (DLA) Probes
- Stainless steel weld applications (austenitic, dissimilar welds, cladding, etc.)
- Thick pipes (40 mm–80 mm [1.6 in.-3.1 in.]) with the A26 dual 32-element linear probe
- Extra-thick pipes (80 mm [3.1 in.] and up) with the A36 dual 64-element linear probe
- Series of wedges to fit pipe diameters of 8.625 in. [219 mm] OD and larger
- Compatible with the universal holder and ChainSCANNER and VersaMOUSE scanners
A27 32-Element (16×2) Dual Matrix Array Probe
- Stainless steel weld applications (austenitic, dissimilar welds, cladding, etc.)
- Mid-range pipe thicknesses
- Series of wedges to fit pipe diameters of 4.5 in. [114.3 mm] OD and larger
- Compatible with the universal holder and ChainSCANNER and VersaMOUSE scanners
A25 16-Element Dual Linear Array Probe
- Stainless steel weld applications (austenitic, dissimilar welds, cladding, etc.)
- Thin-walled pipes (passive focal depth of approx. 6 mm [0.23 in.])
- Series of wedges to fit pipe diameters from 1 in. to 4.5 in. [25.4 mm to 114.3 mm] OD
- Compatible with the COBRA™ scanner
