Miniature Angle Beam Transducers and Wedges are used primarily for testing of weld integrity. Their design allows them to be easily scanned back and forth and provides a short approach distance. Angle beam transducers are single element transducers used with a wedge to introduce a refracted shear wave or longitudinal wave into a test piece.

Advantages:

  • Three-material design of our Accupath wedges improves signal-to-noise characteristics while providing excellent wear resistance
  • High temperature wedges available for in-service inspection of hot materials
  • Wedges can be customized to create nonstandard refracted angles
  • Available in interchangeable or integral designs
  • Contouring available
  • Wedges and integral designs are available with standard refracted angles in aluminum

  • Flaw detection and sizing
  • For time-of-flight diffraction transducers see page 25
  • Inspection of pipes, tubes, forgings, castings, as well as machined and structural components for weld defects or cracks

  • Transducers are color coded by frequency
