TEIS

Evident’ Tube End Inspection System (TEIS) offers a solution to conventional tube-manufacturing inspection systems that leave substantial untested lengths at both ends of the pipe. The TEIS provides high-quality phased array (PA) inspection on the untested ends of seamless and welded pipes of various diameters and wall thicknesses (WT), with a detection performance equal to that of our Rotating Tube Inspection System (RTIS). A conventional ultrasonic testing (UT) option is also available.

Tube End Inspection System

Overview

Evident’s Tube End Inspection System (TEIS) offers a solution to conventional tube-manufacturing inspection systems that leave substantial untested lengths at both ends of the pipe.

Turnkey Tube-End Inspection Solution

Key advantages of the TEIS include:

Flexible Configuration, Easy Integration

The TEIS’ integrated calibration station and water circulation system keep the footprint small, enabling manufacturers to easily install the TEIS in any production line. Built to comply with international standards governing pipe manufacturing inspection requirements, this solution can be adapted to meet the varying needs of oil country tubular goods (OCTG) manufacturers.

Software and Acquisition Unit

Phased Array Acquisition Unit

The QuickScan PA 32:256 module meets IP55 standards and is designed to easily integrate into industrial environments.

Easy Setup

QuickView software makes it easy to setup the system and acquire and manage data.

The software’s wizard makes it simple to create setups for each part size. The inspection configuration and calibration parameters for each pipe diameter are saved and easily retrievable.

  • Quickly access predefined inspection setups
  • Software wizard makes it simple to create new setups
  • Restrict access to certain users to help minimize operator errors
  • Calibration and inspection info are stored for traceability
  • Acquisition files are created for every inspected tube, and these data can be stored locally or remotely
  • Custom reporting and advanced process control tools

High-Performance Detection with Clear Results

When the inspection is complete, the results are merged and displayed to clearly differentiate between accepted and rejected tubes. Detect transverse defects up to 5 mm (0.2 in.) from the edge, using the optional EOT algorithm (for PA configurations).

  • Easy-to-interpret inspection results with real-time strip chart displays
  • Quickly reconfigure when changing pipe sizes
  • Detailed alarms and data reporting
  • Supervisor software that merges and archives data in one common database and centralizes results and displays on a single workstation
  • Easily interfaces with two production line systems
