Overview
Rugged
Vanta analyzers are durable for increased uptime and a low cost of ownership.
Vanta analyzers are IP55 rated* to withstand rain, dirt, and dust and are drop tested using U.S. Department of Defense methods (MIL-STD-810G) to help prevent breakages and costly repairs.
Vanta analyzers can withstand a temperature range of -10 °C to 50 °C (14 °F to 122 °F), so you spend less time waiting for your analyzer to cool, even in hot environments.**
The tough Kapton® window helps protect the detector from damage and costly repairs.
* M Series analyzers are IP54 rated.
** With optional fan. Operated continuously at 33 °C without the fan.
Revolutionary
The Vanta Series’ Axon™ technology uses ultra-low-noise electronics, enabling higher X-ray counts per second for fast, accurate, and repeatable results.
Axon technology coupled with a new quad-core processor make Vanta analyzers remarkably responsive, pushing the limits of performance, so you get the best results in the least amount of time.
Axon technology provides test-to-test and instrument-to-instrument repeatability, so your first test is the same as your last test no matter what instrument you may use.
Productive
Vanta analyzer’s customizable interface is easy to use and intuitive, so even users with minimal experience can be trained quickly. Users can access most features from the main menu in just 1 or 2 steps. Other features include:
- Grade Match Messaging guides the operator with customizable instructions.
- Data management is easy with GPS and optional Wireless LAN.
- The onboard aiming camera helps create a record of the material analyzed.

Vanta for Car Catalyst Recycling
Vanta for Car Catalyst Recycling
Vanta™ analyzers provide excellent performance when measuring precious metals in catalytic converters. Combustion engine automobiles are equipped with catalytic converters that help reduce harmful emissions such as carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbons (HC) and nitrogen oxides (NOx). Certain chemical reactions in the converter transform the harmful substances into carbon dioxide (CO2), water (H2O) and nitrogen (N). To optimize and speed up these reactions, catalyst elements, such as the three platinum group metals (PGM) platinum (Pt), palladium (Pd), and rhodium (Rh), are used in the converters. Because of the value of these metals, they are recycled.
Car Catalyst Recycling
Vanta handheld XRF analyzers provide convenient, on-the-spot measurements of automotive catalysts with high precision and accuracy for:
- Rapid identification of worthless monoliths (unloaded or washed-out).
- Fast sorting of catalyst converters of different value levels to recover the precious metals Pt, Rh, and Pd.
- Precise PGM concentration in minutes for price calculation.
Vanta analyzers also provide high-quality results for additional catalyst metals such as titanium (Ti), chromium (Cr), manganese (Mn), iron (Fe), nickel (Ni), copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), lead (Pb), bismuth (Bi), strontium (Sr), zirconium (Zr), tungsten (W), selenium (Se), and cerium (Ce).
Applications
Vanta™ analyzers provide fast results in a diverse range of applications. Application-specific software features enable operators to get the most out of their analyzers with simplified report creation and traceable results.
Vanta for Car Catalyst Recycling
Vanta™ handheld XRF analyzers provide fast, accurate measurement of the valuable platinum group metals (PGMs) palladium (Pd), platinum (Pt), and rhodium (Rh) found in car catalytic converter material. On-the-spot measurements enable efficient sorting and price evaluation of catalyst scrap throughout the recycling circuit.
