Ultra-thin Access, Now with Extended Benefits - What’s New on the IPLEX TX II Video Borescope
Remote visual inspections often require technicians to reach areas that were never designed with inspection access in mind. Small openings, narrow pathways, and complex internal geometries can make it difficult to inspect critical components with a conventional videoscope. In these environments, an ultra-thin inspection solution can provide the access needed to identify potential defects and make informed maintenance decisions.
The IPLEX TX II video borescope was designed specifically for these challenging applications. Now, the TX II can be operated using the IPLEX One tablet and IPLEX One App, bringing its ultra-thin 2.2 mm flexible scope into the IPLEX One platform. For existing IPLEX One users, this provides an additional ultra-thin inspection option for accessing areas where larger-diameter scopes may not be able to reach.
Ultra-Thin Access for Challenging Inspection Areas
At the heart of the IPLEX TX II is its ability to inspect extremely confined areas. The system is available with a 2.2 mm flexible scope and a 1.8 mm rigid scope, enabling inspectors to access small openings and intricate components that may be inaccessible with larger diameter videoscopes.
The flexible 2.2 mm scope combines its ultra-thin diameter with articulation to help inspectors navigate difficult inspection paths and tight spaces. A 120-degree field of view provides a wide viewing area, helping inspectors observe more of the target at once. These capabilities make the IPLEX TX II well suited for applications across industries such as aerospace, power generation, automotive, and manufacturing, where restricted access can be one of the greatest challenges during remote visual inspections.
Whether navigating small turbine components, inspecting compact automotive assemblies, or examining other difficult-to-access internal areas, the IPLEX TX II gives inspectors another option when conventional videoscopes are simply too large.
Enhanced for Inspections in the Field
The high-quality image captured from the ultra-thin scope can be displayed on off-the-shelf tablet which you may already own. However, the IPLEX TX II scopes can now be operated with the operation unit used with the IPLEX One video borescope, the state-of-the art flagship model from Evident.
Connection to the IPLEX One tablet is easy. Simply plug your IPLEX TX II scope onto the USB-C port of the tablet and you are ready to enjoy the following benefits:
- Wide 10.1-inch daylight readable display for edge-to-edge, high-resolution imaging enabling accurate defect identification.
- IP52 compliant drip proof operation with the sealing structured USB Type-C connection.
- Advanced, touch-screen operation with intuitive software user interface.
Connect Your Inspection Workflow with ViSOL
The IPLEX TX II works with the IPLEX One App. This gives inspectors access to the app’s user interface and enhanced Scene Mode settings while connecting the inspection workflow to ViSOL, Evident’s cloud-based inspection data management platform.
With ViSOL, inspection data can be automatically uploaded to the cloud. Bringing images, videos, and inspection results from multiple technicians into one centralized location. Teams can also download preset data and file marks to help standardize inspections. Teams can also add titles & file marks to inspection files to keep important information organized.

For organizations conducting inspections across multiple technicians or locations, this connected workflow can help improve consistency and make inspection records easier to manage. By combining the ultra-thin inspection capabilities of the IPLEX TX II with the IPLEX One App and ViSOL, teams can extend the benefits of the system. This solution can go beyond simply accessing difficult inspection areas, to how inspection data is managed after the inspection is complete.
Ultra-Thin Inspection with an Enhanced Workflow
The IPLEX TX II still does the one thing that makes it worth building: it goes where larger diameter videoscopes cannot. What has changed is everything around it. The TX II can now run on the IPLEX One Operation Unit, travel as a complete system in one convenient carrying case and send inspection data directly to the cloud through ViSOL. Together, these improvements create a more connected and convenient inspection workflow while preserving the ultra-thin access that sets the TX II apart. When access is limited, the IPLEX TX II helps you see what larger scopes can’t.
